We at Evergreen believe that barbering is not a lost art. Far from it. Practitioners who can provide haircuts, facial hair grooming, and skincare in a barber-shop setting are in demand. You can learn everything you need to get started with us.
Our Barbering program teaches the essentials for styling hair, maintaining beards, and even the classic straight-razor shave. We’ll also cover business skills that other schools often leave out.
After graduation, you can pursue entry-level roles as a:
In less than one year of study, you’ll cover the following topics and skills:
- Shampooing including draping, brushing, scalp manipulations, conditioning, and rinsing
- Haircutting and trimming including scissors, razor, thinning shears, and clippers
- Hair styling, wet, dry and thermal styling and styling aids
- Cutting and trimming of facial hair including shaving, beard, and mustache design and eyebrow, ear, and nose hair trimming
- Straight-razor shaving
- Cleaning and disinfecting of individual work stations, individual equipment, and tools, and proper use and storage of linens
- Safety including proper use of implements and electrical appliances
- Marketing, customer development, and retail business skills
